What's New
Obviously a new look and a new web host. I just moved the site to a new
hosting company and rewrote it all to use ASP.Net, the latest and greatest from
Microsoft. The main reason I moved was the numerous database problems the old
host had. Because of the way I wrote the site, if you couldn't get to the
database, you would get a timeout message. This shouldn't have occurred, but it
did with alarming frequency.
For you regular visitors, you hopefully won't notice any significant changes,
Like things I broke or left out. The most significant changes are the outfitters
database is gone, hardly anybody used it anyway, and the login/registration
functionality is gone. Without the outfitters database and associated
communication requirements there is no need for user names or IDs.
I have started writing up last falls hunts, so far I've done the Pronghorn trip to Wyoming, Whitetail hunts in Missouri and Iowa and the Elk trip to New Mexico.
I have also added a new section called The Land
where I intend to chronicle my experiences with habitat improvements, "farming
for wildlife", and various other project related to the farm I bought last
summer.
I hope you enjoy the new site and please forgive the things I broke moving
everything. I will get it all back together soon. Good Hunting,
Steve
